Lecce: I numeri della vergogna sono in continuo aggiornamento. Oggi almeno trentaquattro i migranti, tra le quali cinque uomini, nove donne e 20 bambini, sono stati trovati morti nel deserto del Sahara, almeno a sentire i funzionari nigeriani che hanno trovato i corpi nel deserto vicino alla piccola città di Assamakka al confine con l'Algeria. Il ministro dell'Interno Mohammed Bazoum ha dichiarato che sono probabilmente morti di sete, dopo essere stati abbandonati dai loro "dai passeur".

Secondo l'Oim, l'Organizzazione mondiale per le migrazioni, per il Niger passa una delle principali rotte migratorie "verso l'Unione europea" e "in particolare verso l'Italia".
